It looks to a Western eye like an exotic mixture of body-building and aerobics. But for the men whirling like dervishes to frenetic drumbeats, juggling heavy wooden clubs and doing push-ups in the pit of a "House of Strength" in northern Tehran, the ritual is about much more. Cameroon Olympic Committee requested for a Zurkhaneh training course

Mr Theophile Sobngwi Secretary General of Regional Olympic Committee / West said that they are interested to make a zurkhaneh training course in Cameroon, but it will take some days to check all the officials details about introducing Iranian traditional sports in Cameroon. He mentioned he will warm fully welcome all opportunities to introduce this interesting traditional sport. He informed that Cameroon is willing to be part of IZSF development program. Zurkhaneh Sports Training team in India & Nepal

With the support of IZSF and the Zurkhaneh Federation of India & Nepal, Mr. Samrat Singh, IZSF Development Director as IZSF Representative & Coach, Mr. Hashemi as Murshed & Mr. Zeinali as media & reporter set up Zurkhaneh training courses and sessions from 20th October to 30th November 2007, in India & Nepal. IZSF purpose was to introduce, and develop Zurkhaneh sports in India & Nepal and increase cultural ties between the Iranian and those 2 countries communities through sports. Mr. Hansraj Singh, President of All India Zurkhaneh Sports Federation, Mr. Suresh Gopi, President of Asian Pankration Athlima & Mr. Karna Bahadur Shahi, President of Nepal Zurkhaneh Sports Association, hosted these training courses in New Delhi, Bangalore & Katmandu. More than 100 Student, boys & girls, were trained and more than 10 states of India & Nepal have seen the demonstration of Zurkhaneh Sports in their Universities & Schools which was so much interesting & exciting for them.
